A protest critically examins the liminal space where public protest intersects with private consumption. The storeront featured a rotating series of historically significant protest slogans, spray painted directly onto the window.

From September 15 to October 1, the storefront featured a rotating series of historically significant protest slogans, spray painted directly onto the window. This deliberate act blurs the line between sanctioned art and illicit graffiti, engaging with academic discourse, which posits that writing on walls is a primary tool for articulating counter-narratives and claiming space in the urban landscape. The ephemeral nature of the installation, where phrases are displayed and then erased, mirros the cyclical process of political dissent being written into history and subsequently overwritten.

A protest culminated in a performance, “The sound that fell like water”, by Victoria Ruiz on October 1st, 53 rue de turenne.
